The article deals with the problem of speech culture and oratory skills of modern students of technical universities on the example of the discipline "Foreign language". According to the theory of rhetoric, the work identifies four categoriesclassifications of speaking skills that can be attributed to speaking in English: physical, linguistic, cognitive, socialemotional. The author gives recommendations for building a successful speech that will attract the attention of listeners.
