The present study consists of various approaches used for taste masking of Ondansetron hydrochloride. Ondansetron hydrochloride is an intensely bitter drug hence, if it is incorporated directly into an orally disintegrating tablet the main objective behind formulation of such a dosage form will definitely be futile. Thus in the present study attempt has been made to mask the taste of Ondansetron hydrochloride with various taste masking agents i.e. Eudragit E 100, Veegum F, β-Cyclodextrin (BCD)
more » ... Cyclodextrin (BCD) and compare among them and formulate orally disintegrating tablets with good mouth feel so as to prepare a patient friendly dosage forms. By complexing drug with β-Cyclodextrin masked the bitter taste of drug and it will not show effect on the formulation as compared to the complexation with Veegum F and Eudragit E100. Formulation containing DPC of β-Cyclodextrin having good in vitro drug release property as compared to the other formulations The batch F9 shows the lower disintegration time and highest percentage drug release hence it was optimized.
