Object-Based Image Analysis for Extraction of Mangrove Forests in Rehabilitated Areas of Bacolod, Lanao Del Norte, Philippines using Lidar Data and GIS

Through LiDAR technology, a total of three species of mangroves were classified from Bacolod, Lanao del Norte, Philippines. Mangroves can be extracted using Object-Based Image Classification and SVM at an overall accuracy of 98.44% with a KIA of 97%. Consequently, using this workflow, mangroves can already be extracted in a large-scale or municipal or city level with acceptable overall accuracy assessments.
