Evaluation of sunflower oil's healing effect in bituminous materials

Recently, sunflower oil has been widely used as encapsulated healing agent for self-healing asphalt. However, few researches have evaluated the healing effect of sunflower oil on aged asphalt binder. As such, this paper investigates the potential healing effect of sunflower oil in bituminous materials. Dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) was employed to evaluate the performance of the asphalt binders.
