A list of these skills, as well as a Scale for measuring Literary Appreciation skills, was developed and validated by a jury of experts. A teacher's guide was developed for using Thinking Aloud strategy. The present study was conducted to 82 seventh -grade pupils at the Prep -School stage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study sample was divided into two groups: experimental (n= 41) and control (n= 41). The results revealed that the first year pupils in the primary school weak in the literary appreciation skills at general and Sub-Skills in literary appreciation, and also Thinking Aloud strategy was effective in developing the Literary Appreciation skills in general.
