Lithium Fluoride Tile and Sheet for Neutron Shield By Keiji KANDA As shielding materials for thermal neutrons, LiF tile and LiF sheet have been manufactured, which produce little secondary γ-rays by neutron captures. Lithium fluoride tiles in ceramics are made by sintering. The standard sizes are of 50×50×10 and 100×100×10mm3 for natural Li, and of 25×25×2 and 50×50×2mm3 for enriched Li. The density of the tiles is more than 95% of the theoretical density for preventing tritium release due to
