This paper seeks to explore how the institutionalization of leprosy researches in Bengal vis-àvis India took shape in the early half of twentieth century. Some of the revolutionary researches in leprosy, appearing during 1920s-1950s till the implementation of National Leprosy Control Program in 1955, would come under introspection.
