Aging is typically characterized by a general decline in physical function, a reduction in social relationships, and decreased social-economic status. However, old age also includes accumulated experiences and wisdom gained throughout the years. Thus, diabetes educators must understand these characteristics of aging to provide individualized education programs. This paper aims to increase diabetes educators' understandings of aging.
