This paper will outline the ingredients of a compact information modelfor high-level synthesis (HLS)from high-level languages such as VHDL. Our contribution in this work is the presentation of an Information Model for HLS that captures the desired representations in a closed and minimized manner. The work is based on experiences with different HLS tools and algorithms at University California, Irvine.
