The thesis presents the Jewish Enlightenment and the political philosophy of the Berlin philosopher Moses Mendelssohn. His struggle for a legal and stable civic status for the Jewish population in the 1770s is at centre of this research. His effort for political and religious freedom rights is also investigated.
