We describe a kinetic microbroth method of measuring the growth rate of Aspergillus fumigatus spectrophotometrically. Using this method, growth rates were determined for nine A. fumigatus isolates for which an LD 90 value in immunosuppressed CD-1 mice had previously been obtained. Comparison of the growth rates and LD 90 values of these isolates suggests that a correlation exists between the two parameters.
