The increasing amount of data available in the maritime industry gives the opportunity to develop more and more quantitative risk assessments. In this study, a method to calculate a frequency of fire ignition in ro-ro spaces based on ship characteristics is established. Especially, the regression models built to predict the size distribution of ro-ro spaces are described. In order to verify the results, a benchmark on fire ignition frequencies is finally provided.
