Analyses of security practices at borders have focused on the dematerialisation (Amoore 2006; Salter 2006) and de-territorialisation (Balibar 2003; McNevin 2014; Walters 2006) of control of individuals' mobility. This paper explores the nature of the control the state still exercises over individuals' mobility at national borders.
