Response of Sunflower to Different N/P Fertilizer Ratios and Levels of Nitrogen and Phosphorus

A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of different ratios and levels of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer on the productivity of hybrid sunflower (cv. RSFH 130) on medium deep black soil under protective irrigation at Agricultural Research Station, Hagari, Ballari, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, Karnataka. ... and P (60 to 90 kg P 2 O 5 ha -1 ) in addition to K fertilization at 60 kg K 2 O ha -1 . Results revealed that N/P fertilizer ratio of 1.40 with application of nitrogen @ 126 kg ha -1 and phosphorus @ 90 kg ha -1 produced higher plant height, stem girth, total dry matter production, head diameter, seed yield per plant, thousand seed weight, seed yield, oil content, oil yield and economics of sunflower when compared to other N/P fertilizer ratios with different nitrogen and phosphorus levels.
