Circular Correlation Coefficients versus the Phase-Locking-Value

The phase-locking-value is one of the most popular measures to quantify bivariate phase coupling. Recently, the use of more complex circular statistical methods for the quantification of synchronization has been discussed. Motivated by these new developments, the PLV is compared with a simple and a multiple circular-circular correlation coefficient.
