Immunoglobulins in milk are either of serum origin or are locally synthesized by lymphoeyte-plasma cell types located close to the glandular epithelium. IgC 1 is the major immunoglobulin type both in colostrum and milk of ruminant. IgC 1 and IgC ı type immunoglobulins have a humoral derivation. But, under the normal circumstance, [gC ı type immunoglobulins are trans/ered into the milk more than that of the IgC1 type.
