The International Research Institute for Climate Prediction (IRI) and Ceará Foundation for Meteorology and Water Resources (FUNCEME) in Brazil have developed a dynamical downscaling prediction system for Northeast Brazil (the Nordeste) and have been issuing seasonal rainfall forecasts since December 2001.
