The aim of this article was to present EU programs for the control of most important and dangerous infectious fi sh diseases. Viral haemorrhagic septicemia (VHS) and infectious hematopoietic necrosis (IHN), occur mostly in rainbow trout and are rare in other salmonids, whereas koi herpesvirus infections (KHV) occur only in carp and koi carp.
