In India the value of the edible gastropods as food is not realized by most people but in other countries, the gastropod meat are very much relished. The present study highlights that the underutilized gastropod, Thais bufo were largely caught among trash fishes in the landindg centre Kadiapatnam (8.87ºN 77. 19º E), but the local people are not properly utilizing the meat.
