Preface von Kármán model. The Bubnov-Galerkin approach reduces the problem to that of the second-order nonlinear ODEs. Then the MSM allowed one to derive the modulation equations, which serve for analysis of resonant and non-resonant vibrations. In particular, the so-called ambiguous and unambiguous back bone curves are detected allowing for prediction of the pull-in phenomena occurring during vibrations of micro/nanoplates.
