Urban expansion and its environmental and spatial effect: The case of Sidi Allal El Bahraoui, province of Khémisset (Morocco) Abstract The spatial analysis takes on a particular interest for all urban planification and planning studies. In fact, this type of analysis highlights the structures and forms of spatial and recurrent organisation, which are summarized by the fields of interaction among the buildings, the road networks, the equipments, the activity areas, and so on. For this purpose, in order to highlight the different spatial effects recorded in Sidi Allal El Bahraoui, we adopted a methodology based on a field study (questionnaire) accompanied by the processing of maps and analysis of satellite images. The results obtained revealed that Sidi Allal Bahroui experienced a very rapid urban sprawl, which had negative repercussions on the territory and the environment.
