Simultaneous Removal of NO and SO 2 from Simulated Flue gas using Fe (II) EDTA coupled with Catalytic Regeneration

Experiments were performed in a packed column to investigate the absorption of NO and SO 2 into Fe (II) EDTA complex. The effect of various operating variables such as amount of activated carbon, pH, liquid flow rate, temperature, O 2 content, and sulfite/bisulfite on the absorption of NO and SO 2 by Fe (II) EDTA solution was examined. Fe (II) EDTA was regenerated by catalytic reduction of Fe (III) EDTA by sulfite ions in the presence of activated carbon. SO 2 is almost 100% absorbed in the
