Generation of quasi-monoenergetic protons from sandwich target irradiated by circularly polarized laser pulse
2009
2009 Conference on Lasers & Electro Optics & The Pacific Rim Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics
We investigate the proton generation from circularly polarized laser interaction with sandwich target consisting of C-H-C layers, where C denotes the carbon layer and H hydrogen layer. Our two dimensional particle-in-cell simulation shows that quasi-monoenergetic proton beam can be obtained. We also study several parameters effect (such as proton layer height, density of carbon layer, charge state of carbon and target thickness) on the proton energy spectra.
