RESUMO: Este artigo trata do problema da poesia em meio à história da literatura. Para tanto, ele encontra-se dividido em três partes. Na primeira, foi analisada a relação entre poesia oral e estudos literários. Na segunda, discutiu-se a contribuição dos estudos culturais para a poesia oral.
