more » ... ffirm that some aspects are still quite unknown, which are part of the qualitative studies, whose origins are in the Anglo-Saxon world: narrative inquiry, narrative research and autoethnography. Although in the Spanish language the first two seem to merge into a single expression, that of narrative research, they constitute proposals that contain similarities but also differences. That is why in the first section I offer a proposal of systematization that makes distinctions between these three perspectives. Throughout the text, when I affirm that these currents still do not enjoy a wide diffusion in the Latin American academic environment, I do it having as reference of comparison the ample production (articles and books) that has been generated, basically, in England and the States In the second half of the 1990s, the signaling does not seek to give the impression that these currents are totally unknown in Latin America, as will be seen in the second section, which offers a brief overview of the Production to which it is possible to have access in the Spanish language.
