The article considers activity of official bodies of Cossack power of Kuban region in relation to changing the system of popular education for Cossack class in the light of the changes taken place in the middle of the 19th century in all the life spheres of the Russian Empire. The main attention has been paid to the problem of teachers' training i.e. the main problem in the sphere of education of that time in Kuban.
