Postpartum psychosis is an acute mental disorder that occurs after childbirth with a prevalence of 1-2 cases per 1,000 births. Data were collected from the databases through the review of the literature published in the last 5 years, (Medline/PubMed, Google Scholar, and Crossref). Based on the collected data on an international level, the main problem in the practical and emotional management of postpartum psychosis by family members is the isolation and lack of knowledge in the treatment of the disease, as there is insufficient information about postpartum psychosis and perinatal mental health disorders in general.
