In Quebec, one of the key functions of pivot nurses in oncology (PNOs) is assessing the needs of people living with cancer and their families. An integrative framework is proposed to support and guide this function. This framework has been constructed from recommendations by health organizations, scienti c communities and theoretical models of nursing. more » ... ludes six dimensions: assessment goals, assessed individuals, assessment time points, assessment content, assessment process, and utilization of results. This is an innovative framework that structures all of the elements required for PNOs' assessment practice.
