Barriers to the importation of foreign medical products to Russia contribute to higher prices on the domestic market, which is a disadvantage for healthcare. Such barriers, valid also for the import of professional literature, resulted in persistence of some outdated concepts and methods in medicine. Policies promoting domestic medical products can result in their biased characterization in scientific reports.
