BACKGROUND Malignancy is a unique disease with abnormal proliferation of cells with the properties of invasion, anaplasia and metastasis. It accounts for around 12% of the deaths throughout the world. Blood does vital tasks around the clock. Blood is a mysterious fascination for man since the dawn of time. Malignancy has a multifactorial aetiology, in which genetic factors also have an influence.
