Telah dilakukan pembuatan pelindung motor crane tipe SWL 10 ton, yang berfungsi untuk melindungi motor crane dari percikan air akibat adanya kebocoran pada atap ruang bengkel. ... rukuran 20 x 20 mm dengan tinggi 1,64 m, luas area yang terlindungi 1,84 x 2,5 m2 sesuai dengan besar motor crane, sedangkan rangka atap dari besi plat tebal 2 mm dan atap dari bahan fiberglass setebal 2 mm. Dengan adanya pelindung ini motor crane diharapkan dapat terhindar dari kerusakan akibat percikan air dari atap ruang bengkel. Kata Kunci : Motor crane, pelindung, knock down ABSTRACT FABRICATION OF PROTECTOR FOR SWL 10 TONS TYPE MOTOR CRANE. In order to protect the motor from water dripped due to the leaks of workshop roof leaks, fabrication of protector for SWL 10 tons type motor crane has been conducted. The design of protector was made as light as possible, thus it doesn't result a significance load to the crane. Besides that, the protector is knockdown type, which is easy to remove when motor maintenance is performed. The protector frames were made from hollow iron with dimension of20 mm x 20 mm and height of 1.640 mm. The area to be covered by protector is 1.840 mm x 2.500 mm which corresponding to the motor crane. Thee roof was constructed by 2 mm thick of iron frame and 2 mm thick of fiberglass. This protector is expected to protect the motor crane from the damage resulting by water dripped from workshop roof PENDAHULUAN Crane tipe SWL 10 ton dengan merk MHE DEMAG serial nomor 84/550 yang diproduksi oleh PT DEMAG Surabaya pada tahun 1987 mempunyai batas kekuatan untuk mengangkat beban maksimum sebesar 10 ton merupakan salah satu fasilitas yang dimiliki oleh Pusat Teknologi Reaktor dan Keselamatan Nuklir-BATAN. Dari beberapa macam jenis crane yang ada, jenis crane yang digunakan pada ruang bengkel adalah crane jalan dengan lintasan atas berpalang ganda [I]. Support crane disangga oleh pilar-pilar gedung sehingga kedudukan crane tetap kokoh meskipun digunakan untuk mengangkat beban maksimum sebesar 10 ton, seperti terlihat pada gambar 1 [2] dibawah ini.
