Eschilo nel Lessico di Arpocrazione

Francesco Mori

Some entries in Harpocration's Lexicon of the ten orators preserve quotations from Aeschylus' plays, almost all coming from lost tragedies. Aeschylean lines cited in this lexicographical work are not completely accessory, but rather functional to explain linguistic features and literary contents of the oratorical passages commented. Tragic lines, in turn, can be sometimes understood on the grounds of these entries.
