Signalling via the insulin-like growth factor-I receptor (IGF-IR) has been associated with resistance to antiepidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER-2)-based therapies in the experimental system, but the coexpression and clinical significance of the IGF-IR, EGFR and HER-2 in cancer patients remains unclear.
