Working at senior management and board levels: some of the issues for women

This article draws on material from a qualitative research inquiry with women who had reached middle and senior level management positions and then left or contemplated leaving employment. It charts six dimensions of organizational life at senior levels, as experienced by these women. Issues of living in and seeking to be effective in 'male-dominated' organizational cultures predominate.
