By a CXXBBOM slip Mr. Stoder treats the corruption of the name of the I tie de Batz e» Leon as evidence that the Anglo-Norman scribes did not nndmtanri the geography of thmr southern original (n. lxiv), although his note on the text shows that he is well aware that the island in question is off the coast of Brittany.
