more » ... sports training management on the bodybuilder's biotype. Maximum strength or maximum repetition is an indispensable indicator for the planning of physical loads in strength training. Objective: Evaluate various body composition and maximum strength indicators in bodybuilders from the Army University -ESPE. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional quantitative study was conducted with a population of 24 sportspeople (19 men and 5 women) aged 19-25 years. Data collection was based on international parameters from the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK). Results: The basic results of the study, herein described, reveal the existence of muscle imbalance at the level of the tibiofemoral joint (knee) in the female group, with a 35 kg difference in the mean value for quadriceps and hamstrings. Statistical evidence is provided of the existence of adipose tissue accumulation above international mean values in abdominal skin folds (16.1 men, 18.2 women) and suprailiac skin folds (20.31 men and 24.8 women). Conclusions: The study made it possible to characterize essential anthropometric indicators to be used when taking decisions related to the sports training management process, including talent selection, as well as establish the maximum strength values indispensable for the planning of physical loads.
