This article has covered the transformation of Sri Lankan society that has been in Civil War for over a quarter of a century since the early 1980s. The Civil War is over in the country, and it is gradually regaining normality in economic activities and people's lives. The spread of durable consumer goods is pointed out as an indicator of national life.
