Characterization of an Ionic Liquid Ferrofluid Electrospray Emission Pattern

The angular distribution of the electrospray emission plume was measured for EMIM-NTf2 based ionic liquid ferrofluid. Measurements were obtained using a tungsten collector plate which was rotated over a single ferrofluid emission source through the use of a stepper motor. Current density vs. angle was recorded for two different magnetic fields while emitting under three bias voltages.
