Rain is a main source of getting water to the ecosystem in this part of country. Operation of several heavy metal industries, coming of distant pollutants, high rain fall, etc. are agents for the deposition of a high amount of Lead and other elements in this region. The particulate matters and gases are scavenged out with rain water to distribute to the eco system. The rain water samples were collected on the event basis at three sites (representative of urban, industrial and remote): Raipur,
more » ... rba, and Ambikapur during the hydrological years 2013. The concentration level of lead in rain water was analyzed by the technique i.e. atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) The volume weighted mean concentration of Pb in the rain water samples of year 2013 are reported. The seasonal and spatial variations in the concentration of the lead are described. The concentration level of the lead precipitated with the rain water in the various parts of the world are discussed.
