This article initially presents the forerunners and sociological discussion of social movements on disability emphasizing its implications in the implementation of public policies for the inclusion of disabled people in the labor market. Specifically concerning Brazil, even with clear laws on the compulsory recruitment of persons with disabilities in public and private organizations, there is an impressive volume of breaches of these laws. ... s of this problem, this study presents four "forms of interpretation on disability" as a determining factor for not following proper Quota Law. The arrays are: "spiritual phenomenon," "normalcy," "social inclusion" and "technical". Enclosing the considerations of this work alerting managers to give effect to revisions in their views on disability are questioning whether they be positive or negative for the feasibility of inclusion of professionals with disabilities in organizations.
