Effect of High-Energy Vibrating Ball Milling in the Reduction of the Crystallite Size of TiO2 Particles
2021
Journal of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering
In this work, TiO 2 powders were prepared by high energy vibrating ball milling. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Photon cross correlation spectroscopy (PCCS with Nanophox) were used to determine the crystallite size of anatase TiO 2 . Depending on the grinding conditions (short grinding time, ball diameter, stainless steel ball and grinding powder ratio), the crystallite size decreased from 34 nm to 8 nm. The average diameter of a TiO 2 particle with 8 nm
