The Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers in Bangladesh play a fundamental role in local society, as a source of irrigation and drinking water, and as a sink of surface water quality in these two rivers and its confluence, a Water Quality Index (WQI) was calculated from ten physicochemical parameters, periodically measured at three sampling sites results indicated a relatively good water quality in the pre magnitude is monsoon>post-monsoon>pre monsoon, mainly due to the effects catchments.
