The results are: * Aa cos 6 Aa Ad 5 -+o 54.72.(14) + I 58.9 (4) 6 +122!'9 ( 5 ) +o 8.71 -5 12.7 (4) 4 -+om12i81 (14) +2' 2418 (4) S * foll. Sketch of field (5') 1908 March 24. d is the sixth satellite. On March 24 I did not know how exact the ephemeris was. There were three similar stars close to the predicted position

I returned to it later to test for motion in any of the stars and concluded there was none. In fact a slight difference in the measures of d, which I took for error of observation, was real. The relative motions of Jupiter and the satellite at this time in a were nearly equal, and in opposite directions, so that the satellite had almost no motion in a with respect to the stars. This accounts for the absence of the declination on this date. As even the one coordinate may be valuable sometime, I give the measured differences of the stars b (14m3) and c (13m9) with star (z = BD +20°2104 and also the comparison of star f (15mg) with star e = BD +20°2106.
