This article is devoted to the problems of women and society in the novels of Charlotte Bronte. Since Charlotte Brontë's attention to gender in her novels is a great opportunity to get a better look at the life of a woman in Victorian times. Upper and middle class women were usually separated from the commercial and intellectual world.
