Chronic pelvic pain is a common yet difficult problem to manage, plaguing the gynecologist as well as the gastroenterologist and general surgeon. Highlighted by increased visceral hypersensitivity, endometriosis and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) are the most common causes or chronic unrelenting pelvic pain.
