In this study, the similar characteristics are comparatively studied in the personalities of Seniha, the heroine in Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu 's Kiralık Konak, and Emma Bovary, the heroine in Flaubert's Madame Bovary. These two young romantic caracters are blindly affected by their passions. They are, in a sense, caught by " a disease of the age".
