This study examined the inhibition and mechanism of natural product pentagalloyl glucose (PGG) against HepG2 cells and determined the effects of its combination with the clinical chemotherapeutic drug, 5-FU. PGG was found to inhibit the proliferation, migration and invasion of HepG2 cells, induced G1 arrest and apoptosis in both concentration- and time- dependent manners.
