This paper analyses the impact of parasocial breakup (PB) on the industrial production performance in Turkey. We employ 139 Turkish TV series finales, broadcasted between 2005 and 2015, as a negative mood proxy. We use the regression analysis with Newey-West standard errors to obtain a more efficient parameter and provide alternative mood proxy dummies and other macroeconomic variables to examine the robustness of the effect of PB on industrial production.
