Electricity is the major source of power for a country's economic activities. In Bangladesh, electricity production is mostly based on the existing reserve of conventional energy sources as fossil fuel like gas, coal, oil etc. which is insufficient to meet the present and near future power demand. Moreover, most of the power plants are natural gas based which will be phased out in the future. In addition, these energy sources are environmentally harmful and require a massive area of land.
