Electricity is the major source of power for a country's economic activities. In Bangladesh, electricity production is mostly based on the existing reserve of conventional energy sources as fossil fuel like gas, coal, oil etc. which is insufficient to meet the present and near future power demand. It has already seen all over the world that power generation from nuclear energy facilitates to optimize energy mix and diversify a country's energy source to get out of the chronic power shortage problem. Realizing the global trends toward nuclear power, electricity generation from a nuclear power plant could be the best option for Bangladesh to keep pace with the growing demand and overcome energy and power crisis.
