A dynamic mooring analysis is performed for a tanker berth in shallow water over a sloping bathymetry. Two different modelling strategies are applied, (i) including the sloping bottom in the panel model as a second structure and (ii) replacing the sloping bottom by an equivalent horizontal bottom. It was found that panel models that are applied for 3D diffraction analysis cannot describe the wave conditions on a sloping seabed.
